Victoria's Secret: Beauty Rush

Recently I stopped by Victoria's Secret and purchased lipsticks in colors Poppysicle and Clementini. I have to say I really LOVE the color of poppysicle. It's pigmented and has a bit of a sheen to it, also the bright red color is perfect to wear in the day time. I wasn't too happy about Clementini the lipstick looks really matte when it's on, I really do not recommend this color.

Say What?!?..Temporary Lip Tattoos

I was browsing the internet (as always) and I came across an article on temporary lip tattoos...ummm how freaking cool is that?!?! It think it's a really good idea for high fashion photo shoots and people that are into funky street fashion but honestly I can't picture the average person walking around with polka dot or cheetah print lips.... I can so see Rihanna rocking this look in the future.

Will you be rocking this look?

How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Cleaning your makeup brushes is extremely important because over time they get contaminated with bacteria from your face....Eventually causing you to break out and causing bacteria build up in your makeup. Listed are a few easy steps that you should follow every two weeks to ensure your brushes are clean.

Materials

Big Bowl

Dirty Brushes

Dial Anti Bacterial Soap

Shampoo

Paper Towels

Steps

1. Fill the bowl up with warm water

2. Pour a decent amount of anti-bacterial soap in the bowl.

3. Dip the dirty brushes in the water and swish them around until most of the old makeup comes out.

4. Pour a tiny bit of shampoo into you hand and rub the bristles of each brush in the shampoo.

5. Rinse the brushes out until the water is completely clear.

6. Dry the brushes and fluff out the bristles.

Note: You can also buy brush cleansers at MAC, Sephora, or any other high end makeup store...the only problem is, they are a bit pricey. Also if you use makeup sponges and powder puffs you should changes those at least once a month. Its suppose to be every two weeks but just make sure your face is clean everytime you use your puff or sponge to apply makeup.

Make up 101: Don'ts

1. Do not pile on eyeliner, it makes you look scary. Instead wear a simple cat eye, it gives the face a nice refined look.

2. Do not line your lips with black liner, your lip liner should always match your lipstick.

3. Do not cake on foundation, it makes you look like you are wearing a horrible mask. Put a light layer of foundation or a light layer of powered, there is no need to pile on layers of make up.

4. Do not overly fill in your eyebrows, it takes away from the rest of your face. Instead slightly fill in your eye brows by smudging eye shadow or an eye brow pencil into your brow. Make sure the color matches perfectly with your eye brows.

5.Do not use an excessive amount of blush. When applying blush make sure you tap out the excess powered on your brush, if you put on to much blush you can always wipe some off with a napkin.

6. Do not wear foundation that is not the shade of your skin. I always have someone assist me at a MAC store.

7. Do not wear all the colors in your new eyeshadow palette all at once. Instead blend a few colors that compliment each other.

High or Low....Which way do you go??

High end vs Low end make-up products. Everyone loves MAC products, but lets face it MAC is a little pricey. I personally don't want to spend $15 for a funky color eye shadow that I'm probably going to wear twice a year. So here are some alternatives......

1. Elf products are very inexpensive, but that doesn't mean they don't work. Elf is a good alternative to high end make-up, I personally think the eye shadows, eyeliner, and lip gloss works just as well as MAC products. Products start at $1.00. (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/)

2. NYC is another good alternative to high end makeup. The palettes are really pigmented and the lip colors go on really bright. Products start at $ 0.99. (http://www.newyorkcolor.com/products/eyes)

3. NYX I've never tried these products but I read a lot of reviews saying that its really good. (http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/products)

I do recommend MAC powder, foundation, and concealer it's worth the price. Most low end foundations and powder wear off after a few hours, the color range generally suck, and it leaves skin feeling oily. I hope this post helps!
